We were able to stay at my mom's house for the two weeks we were up in norcal~Yay! Thanks mom! She was at Auntie Rachie's for the Holidays living it up with that grand baby Ella-bella! Since it's the same ward and town as the other Hollingsworths (Greg's brother Chris and his wife Kelly-with the boys: Christian, Coleton, Connor, Caden and Cannon) we were able to spend lots of time with them as well. Christian their oldest had his farewell the first Sunday that we were there and an open house that same night at the Kyler's home. (The Kylers are Kelly's parents~We love them too!)
They also spent several days up on the mountain with us...I was a little jealous of the skills the other Hollingsworth's had! Regardless, we had a blast! We ended up spending the New Year's Eve night at the Kyler's home too! They had all that leftover food from Christian's open house and tons of family still up visiting so it was nice to catch-up with them and share in the spirit of their home.
Our Christmas day was so much fun! Uncle Peter (my big bro) came up from Santa Cruz and spent the day with us...we ended up having a "Christmas Story" Day! He got a flat tire when he was out visiting his step sons and I timed him changing his tire in front of mom's house (just like in the movie) then we went to go see the movie Avatar and had enough time before to go and eat chinese food! (just like in the movie!) We were one of a few in the restraunt and so were waited on hand-and-foot! The food was GREAT!
The movie was so full we had to wait an extra hour at the theatre but didn't mind because Elder Jacob Barker (my little bro) on a mission in Chicago called us for the holiday! I was able to talk to him for a bit and so did Peter! The Lord works in his own way! Even filling up the movie so that we could get that precious phone call!!
